Do You Hear GOD Calling You
...to
prayer? ...to religious life?
He
is calling. Yet it can be hard to know how to respond. WE
CAN HELP.
The
Little Ones of Jesus Crucified, a catholic community with a
contemplative spirituality for all vocational states of life - vowed
Brothers and Sisters, matrimonied couples and dedicated singles.
We
seek the meaning of life, love and suffering by responding to the
love of Jesus Crucified. We strive to live the gospel with the help of
the Rule of St. Benedict
and the Oblation of St. Thérèse. From the Eucharistic core of our own vocation,
we offer a vocational discernment process to assist individuals in discovering
and responding to God's
call in their lives, wherever that might lead them.

Individual or Group Vocational Retreat
Vocation retreats of 2-5 days are given in conjunction with the
Trappist
monks. Retreats
on various topics related to religious life,
contemplative spirituality, and community life are available.
Individual discernment dialogues are at the heart of every retreat.
Individual
Vocation Direction Sessions
After an initial retreat or meeting discernment assistance
can be
continued via phone or e-mail.

Basically,
you maybe called to an apostolic or a
contemplative spirituality, in a lifestyle that is either
communal or solitary.
Carefully
exploring each of these options can spare
you much trial and error. We help many in their
journey,
whether they are called to a deeper life of
solitary prayer, apostolic service or life in community.
If
you suspect God is calling you to life in a community,
there are hundreds of options.
Where
Do You Start?
Each religious community has
its own charism, or
approach to the spiritual life.
We can help you explore what aspects attract your
soul and suggest specific communities to approach.
The process of contacting, visiting, and making
longer stays in communities takes time. The effort
to respond to any vocation can turn your accustomed
life upside down. We can talk with you as you seek
God and respond to His call in your heart.
1. Obtain
a letter of referral from a priest or religious.
2. Attend
an initial discernmet retreat at the nearby Trappist Abbey of Our Lady
of the Holy Spirit.
3. Meet with various members of our community.
While
on the retreat, you will meet with various members of the communilty.
Each one will offer you a listening ear and heart attuned
to praying for your vocation.
"Cry
out with joy to the Lord all the earth, serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before Him singing for joy..."
